Watch Jack’s story

Jack was 99 when Village Agent Aly first met him. This heartwarming story shows how a visit from a Village Agent can make a huge difference in being able to stay independent.

Jack Uphill 10th October 1920 - 10th October 2021

Sadly Jack passed away on his 101st birthday. We will remember him for his stories about going water ski-ing with his brother, the reason why he has a dodgy leg. How he lived off the food he grew in his back yard, enjoyed sitting looking out on his garden and living in the Chew Valley. Jack lived at home independently, supported by neighbours and family, carers and the local District Nurses and GPs. His family were very proud of him. Thank you Jack, it was a pleasure to meet you.
