ACRE have issued new guidelines for Village Halls and Community Buildings on arrangements for hiring and the guidance can be downloaded below.
As expected, regulations have largely disappeared, so what we have now is mostly advisory – with the important exception that mask wearing is now mandatory in most circumstances, and please do note the requirement to exhibit notice(s) reminding people of that.
As you’ll be aware, with the arrival of omicron, Covid numbers have escalated alarmingly in our part of the world, so our view is that a cautious approach is justified.
As Trustees or Hall Managers you are entitled to retain restrictions if you think that’s appropriate.
While the cleaning regime is still recommended, ventilation and space are the most important issues. Being careful about numbers, and pre-booking seems sensible as far as possible to avoid over-crowding. In principle, all events are now allowed, but the decision is down to individual Halls.
